Reflection - Professional Practice and Productivity with Technology

As an educator that prides himself on building his last three computers, I am very passionate when it comes to using technology in most everything I do inside and outside the classroom.  Eventhough, I came into this class with certain level of skills, I am finding out that I have a long way to go to really become proficient in all aspects of technology!  I use technology everday to commnunitcate via e-mail with my colleagues, setting up Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings via a Google Calendar, disseminating information that I get from the Distict to the Special Education Department.  I try to figure out how to develop ways to work smarter not harder, which sometimes is exhausting.  The productivity part of my development is lacking, it takes me a long time to wrap my mind around what I am trying to accomplish and often times creates many hours not properly used for productivity.  I do use technology as much as possible with my students as a meaningful way to get them engaged in their own learning process.  As well as, using tools to help level the playing field with the other students they are competing against.  I look forward to what the future has in store for all of us in the area of technlogy, hopfully building upon what I have learned  with this course to make my life easier.
